Peripheral Arterial Duplex Testing

Course Description
This introductory level course provides a basic understanding of peripheral arterial duplex testing for both
the technologist and physician. The course includes: the basics of Doppler and transducers, spectral analysis, color
Doppler, anatomy & hemodynamics of the upper and lower arterial system, clinical aspects of disease and treatment, physical
examination and patient history, peripheral arterial duplex testing techniques of the lower and upper extremities, graft analysis,
pseudoaneurysm detection, ankle brachial index, waveform analysis, thoracic outlet syndrome, examination protocols, diagnostic
criteria, reporting and testing validation.
Normal course length is 2 days
Normal class size is 1 to 6 participants

A master copy of the course material is included in the fees, or we will ship pre-assembled binders for a nominal cost per
item. If you choose to receive the master copy of the course material, we ask that copies be made and put in binders, one
per student
Continuing Education
Continuing
education credits from the Society of Vascular Technology can be provided for all persons completing the course for a single
fee.
